'O2 Arena' now 'O3' in Tribute of Drake's London Gig

Caution! This content might be out of date, and our opinions may have changed.

To everyone’s surprise and delight (no this isn’t an April’s Fools prank), the O2 Arena have changed their name and sign to ‘The O3’ in tribute of Drake performing every night from 1st to 9th April. This rebrand is specifically taken from Drake’s hit song ‘God’s Plan’ from his record breaking album 'Scorpion'.

“And you know me
Turn the O2 into the O3, dog”

From the song 'God's Plan'

The O2 wrote on Twitter: "Turn The O2 into The O3. This is God's Plan. #DrakeTheO3 "

O2’s Rebrand Trending

O3 Opening Night

‘Assassination Vacation Tour’ O3 Arena first night was a great success. Drake started off the set by paying homage to the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was sadly shot dead on the 31st March. The rest of the night was packed with best hits and ended his concert with 'God's Plan' much to the delight of the crowd and maybe a nod to O2’s rename.

This O2 rebrand is only temporary but it shows what branding can accomplish and get people talking. Branding is a key part of MadeByShape and we make sure with all our clients that we take their brand and put that across into our Graphic Design and Web Design.
