With the new year already upon us, we take a look at some of the Events we will be attending in 2019, events which you may not know about, but should know about.

UX in the City: Manchester 2019 March 14, 2019 Location: The Studio, 51 Lever Street, Manchester, M1 1FN
UX in the City: Manchester is a hands-on event for the User Experience community, organised by the team behind UX Cambridge and UX Scotland. Returning for the 3rd year - join us for the opportunity to connect and learn from peers and leaders in the industry. Our participants leave with new ideas and skills to improve user experiences, an increased professional network, and memories of many useful conversations.
DesignMarch 2019 March 28–30, 2019 Location: The Iceland Design Centre, Aðalstræti 2,101 Reykjavík
DesignMarch is Iceland’s annual design festival. It will take place for the eleventh time on 28–30 March 2019. This will be the largest and most significant festival yet with over one hundred events transforming the most northerly capital in the world into one big venue for design. From fashion to furniture, architecture to the environment, food to product design, the festival showcases the best of the local design scene alongside exciting international names. The festival opens with DesignTalks, a day of lectures by internationally acclaimed designers and leading local design thinkers. DesignMarch is organised by the Iceland Design Centre, the promotion agency for Icelandic design and architecture.
Visual Design Fundamentals February 5, 2019 Location: GA London, The Relay Building, 1st Floor, 114 Whitechapel High Street, London
The goal of Visual Design is to communicate a specific message to a targeted audience. This workshop will teach you the purpose of visual design, the theory behind design and also how it relates to UX design. You'll learn the basic elements of Visual Design, including typography, colour, contrast, gestalt principles of perception, etc. You'll leave with an understanding of the fundamentals of Visual Design, and the knowledge to go on and create work of your own, building on your learnings in the workshop.

The event has a strong practical focus on experience-sharing, hands-on activity and learning-by-doing, as well as providing plenty of opportunity for unscheduled sessions, impromptu conversations and fun. 94% of responses from formal feedback at the 2018 event, say participants found the event to be worthwhile and would recommend it to a friend.
