If you’re somebody looking to choose a web design agency in manchester, a web design agency in london, a web design agency in cheshire, or a web design agency anywhere in the world - it may be worth knowing who I am, what we offer here at Shape and what I’m currently working on.
As a Co-Founder of the business, my role now is pretty much project management within the studio, client management, and a lot of time spent in meetings with new clients and pitching for work. I’ve learnt a lot in terms of business over the years and as the growth of MadeByShape increases every year, I can’t be that bad at business. But if you take all that away, I’m just a designer, more specifically, a web designer. I noticed at the age of 19 it was my passion, I was good at it and found it relatively easy to pick up in terms of theory and implementation. So, every opportunity I get, when the diary lets me, I work on design projects just like the rest of my team.
Currently I’m working on a few…
A gym wear fashion brand for ladies. Fits my style perfect. I would consider my style of design as clean, minimalistic, grid orientated and straight to the point. I like to use stunning photography mixed with clean typography. The target audience suits me also, as I have a background in working with 19-30 year olds from producing heavy research into fashion, wedding and lifestyles brands with the same audience.
A cosmetic surgeon in London. Technically, this is not the most difficult project we’d have worked on because it’s a pretty simple website. But the hard part of this is to understand exactly what he offers ( lots of long words ), and retrieve form the clients mind his ideas and vision. It’s important to understand clients thoughts before every project start, to listen to their thoughts, look at the references they like and dislike and then advise whether that is correct for the target audience. There’s no point in just creating a concept that we think is perfect if the client had very different ideas from the start.
A school events company. Well, this is such a great project to work on. We’ve created cool illustrations, animated gifs, and fully responsive site that is full of colour and appeal to teachers. Their concept of idea behind the business is absolutely fantastic so it’s a project we loved to hear about and are proud to be the chosen agency. Watch this space as the project will be launching in the next month, make sure to follow us on Twitter for the latest updates.
A craft beer website. This is a great project for us as we have been commissioned to produce the full lot. Branding, photography, web design, web development, eCommerce, CMS, Responsive - the lot. We’re building this in Craft CMS and are currently in the design concept phase. Looking to launch in 2017. A very different target audience to the projects mentioned above.
A wedding dress eCommerce website. This again suits my style and target audience. This enquiry was a little bit different to the norm as the client didn’t have the budget we suggested. I decided to accept the project based on the ideas the client had, the stunning visuals they already had produced and the timescale suited us so that’s a project I’ll be working on myself most likely in the evenings and weekends.
A restaurant / hotel / pub. I love my job already, but this client made it even better for me. They enquired, we met, they liked what I said, but then wanted to hear my thoughts in more detail about SEO approach and marketing. At this stage, they didn’t know what they needed, they’re not experts in SEO or digital marketing and have never assigned an agency to work on this for them, in the past they have relied on word of mouth. So when a client says to you, do you fancy coming down to the pub, have a few drinks, have a meal, have as much as you like to eat and drink, stay over in one of our gorgeous rooms and then we’ll have a meeting to discuss your ideas in the morning. Oh, and by the way the tab is on us…… OBVIOUSLY, I said yes. We discussed the next morning, I won the project and we’ll be started that very soon.
Co-Founder of MadeByShape. Most of my blogs are about business related aspects, not just web design.
